Denver Broncos Free Agency Tracker With AFC West Notes
This Denver Broncos free agency tracker will be updated throughout the NFL free agency signing period. It also includes AFC West teams' moves.
The legal tampering period is here, which means NFL Free Agency has officially kicked off and so has our Denver Broncos free agency tracker.
The Denver Broncos are expected to make a bunch of moves, including a splash signing or two.
Also included: AFC West moves that impact the Broncos ability to win the division.
Denver Broncos Free Agency Tracker
The Broncos have multiple positions of need to fill.
Namely, running back and linebacker. But also, defensive line, wide receiver, safety, and depth on the offensive line.
Broncos Cap Space
The Broncos currently have around $14.5M in cap space after releasing Dre Greenlaw on Monday afternoon and getting $6M back to the cap. Justin Strnad's deal will be around $6M per year, and $5.95M for Singleton, and $10M for Dobbins per year.
Over the Cap is reporting $24.5M but that doesn't include Greenlaw, Dobbins, nor Strnad.
Denver Broncos Free Agent Signings
Broncos reached out to WR Romeo Doubs
Update: Doubs signed with the Patriots. It's a monstrous 4-year, $80M deal.
Denver is still looking to add depth to their receiver position. They inquired about Jalen Nailor but he was signed by the Raiders. Then, on Monday, they reached out to Kendrick Bourne, with no deal done as of yet.
On Tuesday, Chris Tomasson reports the Broncos reached out to Romeo Doubs. "Nothing at this point seems to be hot," he said, so it doesn't sound like anything imminent is happening there.
But maybe today is the day the Broncos do bring in a veteran WR. Just not Doubs.
Denver Broncos reached out to WR Kendrick Bourne, he signed with Arizona
Chris Tomasson reports the Broncos reached out to Kendrick Bourne. But Bourne ended up going to the Cardinals.
Denver Broncos re-sign J.K. Dobbins
After watching Kenneth Walker go to the Chiefs, New Orleans steal Travis Etienne from the Broncos, and Tyler Allgeier signed with the Cardinals for 2 years, $12.25M, the Broncos have re-signed J.K. Dobbins.
Dobbins is a solid starter in terms of fit with the Broncos. He knows the offense already, knows his role within the team, and seemingly has a good relationship with backup R.J. Harvey.
But, can Dobbins stay healthy? He's never played a complete season in the NFL.

Last year, Dobbins ran for 772 yards and 4 touchdowns with a stellar 5.0 yard per carry average. That was before he was injured by the Raiders in Week 10 on a hip drop tackle that wasn't called.
He's a good back, but quite underwhelming compared to the potential of Walker or Etienne.
Etienne's making $52M over the course of 4 years. That's $13M AAV. I'd be interested to hear what Denver offered him. They were among four teams trying to sign Etienne.
Dobbins got $20M over 2 years or $10M per year. Not the most cap-friendly contract. Especially for an injury-prone back.
I had Dobbins as the Broncos 4th-best fit as a free agent running back.

Could Denver sign Alvin Kamara if he's cut?
Now that the Saints have Etienne, will they cut Alvin Kamara. He was named a cut candidate by FTN Fantasy a few weeks ago, which is when I wrote this piece for Mile High Sports.
Maybe Sean Payton brings Kamara in with Dobbins and Harvey?
Broncos re-sign Alex Singleton
The Broncos are running it back at linebacker as well as running back. They have re-signed Alex Singleton as well as Justin Strnad, per Diana Russini. It's a 2-year deal worth up to $15M.
Singleton has been a solid starter for the Broncos the last two years, and battled back from his torn ACL last year while fighting through a testicular cancer diagnosis. He had 135 combined tackles last year, with one sack, one forced fumble, and four passes defended.
Denver's "musts" were at linebacker and running back and they filled both with in-house guys. On defense, Denver was one of the best units in the NFL. So it's hard to argue with bringing those guys back. Offensively, a boost to the run game would've been nice.
Denver Broncos release Dre Greenlaw
The Greenlaw experiment is over in Denver after only one year. Ian Rapoport reports Denver is releasing the veteran linebacker. Denver saves $6M toward the cap and eats $4M in dead cap.
John Franklin-Myers signs with Tennessee Titans
JFM got paid on Monday: 3 years, $63M. And the Broncos will get a compensatory draft pick for it, likely a 4th-rounder in 2027 per Mike Klis.
P.J. Locke signs with Cowboys
Safety P.J. Locke signed a 1-year, $5M deal with the Cowboys.
Broncos re-sign Lance Krull
Mike Klis reported on Wednesday another in-house tight end has been re-signed.
Broncos re-sign Matt Henningsen, Adam Prentice, Lil'Jordan Humphrey
Denver keeps re-signing their own players. DT Henningsen, FB Prentice, and WR Humphrey were added on Wednesday and Thursday.
Denver Broncos Pre-Free Agency Re-Signings
Justin Strnad re-signs
Linebacker Justin Strnad re-signed on Sunday. The deal was reported at 3 years for $18M, though the Broncos haven't named what his price is yet. It could signify that the Broncos want him to start in 2026. He started 8 games in each of the last two years as a fill-in when Alex Singleton and Dre Greenlaw were injured.
Other re-signings
- Guard Alex Palczewski signed a 2-year deal.
- Tight end Adam Trautman signed a 3-year deal for $17M.
- Defensive lineman Dondre Tillman on a 1-year ERFA tender.
- Safety Devon Key brought back on a a 1-year ERFA tender.
- Defensive lineman Jordan Jackson brought back on a 1-year ERFA tender.
- Running back Tyler Badie brought back on a 1-year ERFA tender.
- Tight end Nate Adkins re-signed to a 1-year deal.
- Quarterback Sam Ehlinger signed a 1-year deal.
- Cornerback Ja'Quan McMillian has a 2nd-round tender placed on him. He will likely re-sign but nothing done there yet.
Kansas City Chiefs
Travis Kelce will return
Ian Rapoport says Kelce will return to Kansas City although many expected him to retire after last year. Despite being a shadow of his former self, he's still certainly a serviceable tight end.
Chiefs land Kenneth Walker
According to Tom Pelissero, the Chiefs have made a huge splash signing by inking Super Bowl MVP running back Kenneth Walker. Walker was a player on the Broncos radar, but ultimately he was a better fit with Kansas City. Denver will now have to face him twice a year.
Cheifs re-sign Tyquan Thornton
The receiver signed a 2-year deal.
K.C. signs DT Khyiris Thonga
It's a 3-year deal for $21M per Pelissero. He's a 5-year vet with 24 combined tackles and 2 passes defensed in 14 games played last year, 8 starts.
Chiefs sign safety Alohi Gilman
K.C. needed help in the secondary and got it with Gilman per Rapoport. He signed a 3-year $24.75M deal. Gilman is a 6-year pro who had 6 passes defended, a touchdown and two forced fumbles in 12 games last year.
Chiefs trade Trent McDuffie, lose Jaylen Watson both to Rams
Last week, Kansas City sent their No. 1 corner back Trent McDuffie to the LA Rams for a first-round pick this year, No. 29, the 2026 fifth- and sixth-round picks from LA and a 2027 third-round pick.
Ironically, that No. 29 pick is exactly one spot ahead of the Broncos at No. 30. Then, McDuffie signed a massive 4-year, $124M extension.
On Monday, his former teammate in K.C. Jaylen Watson also signed with the Rams.
